Abstract

This article proposes a reflection on the cartographic method in Jesús Martín-Barbero’s work. Based on a literature review and the identification of key elements from the author's writings, we foster an epistemological discussion structured around three analytical axes: 1) cartography as method and its theoretical foundations; 2) Martín-Barbero’s “epistemological shiver” and its dialogue with Anthropology; 3) the relationship between television, domestic space, and social transformations. The articulation of these reflections highlights fruitful theoretical-methodological convergences and underscores the relevance of transdisciplinary debates in Communication research.
